Good News for WA Home Buyers!

The WA Government has announced expanded stamp duty concessions for pre-
construction (off-the-plan) and under construction properties as part of its $70.6 million
housing package.

While the announcement states the changes are “effective immediately”, these changes
are subject to legislation and formal implementation by RevenueWA.

What’s changing?

More homes now qualify
The concession will now extend to survey-strata properties, including duplexes,
triplexes, villas and townhouses – not just large apartment developments.

Pre-construction
• Full concession available up to $800,000
• Concession tapers up to $900,000

Under construction
• 75% concession up to $800,000
• Tapers to 37.5% up to $900,000

Extended timeframe
The concession has been extended to 30 June 2028 (previously due to end 30 June
2026)

Important – What Buyers Should Know
The changes aren’t in effect just yet. If you enter into a contract on or after 12 March
2026, we are currently waiting on confirmation of how and when these changes will
apply, including whether they will cover contracts already signed.
