I HAVE PUT AN OFFER ON A PROPERTY…NOW WHAT?

I have put an offer on a property, and the seller has accepted it…so what am I waiting for?

Technically, the property isn’t yours until settlement has been completed and monies have exchanged hands. But you can generally feel a bit better once the finance has been approved and all conditions have been met.

These conditions may be anything from building and/or pest inspections to extra due diligence items as agreed upon at the time of writing the Offer and Acceptance Contract.

Once all conditions have been met the property is then considered “unconditional” and you are then ready for the agreed settlement date.

Once settled, if the property is occupied by the Seller, you will generally receive the keys on the next day after 12pm noon. If the property is unoccupied by the Seller, the keys can be handed over once notice of the successful settlement has been sent by your Settlement Agent to your Real Estate Agent.
